Reacting to the Trinamool’s protest in Parliament, BJP MP and West Bengal BJP President Samik Bhattacharya stated that the BJP is a party of Bengalis, Hindus, and Indian Muslims—not of Rohingyas or Bangladeshis. He alleged that Bengali labourers working across the country are now being targeted by Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool, as she wants to turn West Bengal into West Bangladesh. He also questioned Mamata’s silence when Firhad Hakim had said that more than half of Bengal’s population would speak Urdu.
